Dr. Baharestani grew up in Roslyn, New York, and attended SUNY Stony Brook where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He received his DDS at New York University College of Dentistry. Honored as one of the top students in his graduating class, Dr. Baharestani was inducted into the prestigious national dental honors society – Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He then was selected to join the Department of Dentistry at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City where he completed his general practice residency. Seeking further sub-specialization, Dr. Baharestani received his Post Doctoral Certificate in Endodontics from New York University College of Dentistry after 2 years of advanced training in root canal treatment.
Dr. Baharestani is a second generation Endodontist in New York. His father, Dr. Albert was an Endodontist in Forest Hills, Queens, for over 25 years. Dr. Baharestani developed his passion for endodontics by shadowing his father for countless hours while in high school, college, and dental school.
Dr. Baharestani believes in providing access to dental care to all patients, having completed an outreach mission to underserved patients in rural Nicaragua. He is conversational in Spanish. A scholar and educator, Dr. Baharestani has co-authored numerous print and online articles in national and international journals on a variety of endodontic topics.
The extensive background, training, and passion for using advanced technology is what makes this Great Neck Endodontist one of the forefront practitioners on the North Shore of Long Island. In his spare time he enjoys exploring New York City, traveling to new cities, playing sports, and spending time with his wife and family.
